Albert Bond Lambert was the son of a pharmaceutical magnate and an early St. Louis flight enthusiast; he purchased a flyer from the Wright brothers in 1909, and took flight lessons from Orville Wright. Here the two men are pictured before take off in the Wright 1910 Model B Flyer. The years 1909-1910 were of monumental importance for the Wright brothers and for the history of aviation, as Orville made a series of highly publicized exhibition flights in the U.S. and Wilbur in France which would demonstrate to the world the magnificence of their accomplishment.
