Contemporary full morocco leather gilt decorated and titled in gilt, binding sturdy and intact, 5 raised bands, 6 compartments, marbled endpapers, printed title page, 35 large (5.75" x 7.5") photograph portraits of New York State Senators interleaved with blank sheets, on printed thick card leaves with the signatures of most below the portrait, Senator William H. Brand's copy with his name gilt stamped on the front board, moderate wear/scratch marks to boards and spine, rub marks/fraying to board edges/corners and spine tips and tops, some mold spotting to text block edges however no mold/musty scent, some foxing/age spotting to front/back matters, white soiled spot to rear board, gilt ruled board edges. A photographic and autographic record of the New York State governing legislative body. Included among the noteworthies are Governor John T. Hoffman (the last Mayor of New York City to be elected Governor Signed), Lt. Governor and President of the Senate Allen C. Beach, and the infamous William M. "Boss" Tweed from the Fourth Senatorial District in New York City (Signed). This session proved Tweed's final public office with his re-election the result of overwhelming popularity within his district, despite a brewing scandal that lead to his arrest a month after the election. Presumably issued only for members of the Senate and other state luminaries, and as thus very uncommon. OCLC locates no copies of this volume.
