About This Item

(CALLAHAN, HARRY). Callahan, Harry. Foreword by Hugo Weber. PHOTOGRAPHS: INTERLAKEN DESIGNER AWARD 1970 - RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL OF DESIGN. Providence, RI: Arkwright-Interlaken, Inc., 1970. First Edition. Folio. Loose Prints in Clamshell Box. Photographic Portfolio. Fine ii, twenty-three 12 x 10" offset reproductions, printed recto only, of b&w photographs housed in the publisher's unprinted green clamshell box, as issued. A variant of the annual Harry Callahan class portfolios published at RISD during this period, this is slightly smaller in size, and contains offset printed images rather than original photographs. The contributors Harry Callahan ("Eleanor", 1953), William (Bill) Burke, Jeffrey Silverthorne, Bert Beaver, Richard Lebowitz, Paul Krot, John Femino, Dicran Derderian, Lee De Jasu, Chester Michalik, Lawson Little, Brian Pelletier, John Benson, David Campbell, Lee Post, Steven Liebman, Roy Zimmerman, Roy DiTosti, Charles Matter, Stephen Frank, WIlliam Joseph Carner, Roz Gerstein, and Alan Metnick. A most handsome complete example of this uncommon item whose contents are all in Fine condition, and whose clamshell box shows only the most minimal wear and scuffing with a few minor brown spots on the interior.
