About This Item

This is the FIRST EDITION of Hammett's classic text published in 1940. The "attached" ISBNs refer to the 2nd Edition published in 1970. The 1st and 2nd Editions treat the subject VERY differently and many said that the 2nd Edition should have been published as a first edition with a new title!

Hardcover. Very Good or better than VG condition. Owner's name on inside cover leaf. No other marks. No bends, folds or tears. Clean covers, straight, tight binding, sharp corners. From well maintained private library.
