About This Item

New York, NY Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1917. Hardcover First Edition, unstated. Very Good: shows light wear to extremities; mild rubbing; faint soiling; the gilt titles at the backstrip are no longer bright, but remain clearly legible; stray pencil mark (not a remainder mark) at the bottom edge. The binding is square and secure; text clean. Despite these minor flaws, remains clean, sturdy, and quite presentable. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. 273pp. Sixteen Sepia-Tone Portraits. Gilt titles at the front panel and backstrip. First Edition, unstated. Some material previously published in musical periodicals. Hardback: Pastedown Illustration (signed Portrait of Percy Grainger, dated November 1915 - this signed portrait also serves as the frontispiece, so this is clearly a reproduction of a signed portrait) at the Front Panel.
