Beautifully produced monograph on the works of De Hooch, a master of Holland's Golden Age of art and a pioneer of the Delft School of painting. Produced in association with an exhibition at the Wadsworth Atheneum, the book traces the artist's development from his early paintings of guardroom and tavern scenes to the light-filled courtyards and interiors of his Delft period, and then to the elegant paintings he produced after he moved to Amsterdam.
