About This Item

The First UK Printing published by Andre Deutsch in 1976. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Light spotting to the boards. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Light toning to the text block. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition. Light spotting to the edges and a hint of creasing at the spine tips. The pictorial wrapper looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. Full page colour illustrations throughout by the author. The book has been Inscribed and Signed by the Author to the front blank end-paper: ' To Jim and Denise, Good Luck & Best Wishes, from Steve Augarde'. Augarde is the author and illustrator of the 'The Touchstone Trilogy' which is a subtle fantasy that depicts fairy folk as reclusive tribes largely without magic. The first title in the trilogy, 'The Various' won a Smarties award in 2003 and was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award. All three books of the Touchstone Trilogy have been nominated for the Carnegie Medal. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
