F.C and J. Rivington & Partners, London, 1823. 'A New Edition'. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Ten matching small volumes with dark green half leather bindings and marbled boards. Gilt decoration on spine, two spine labels on each volume with gilt lettering. Covers are lightly worn, corners, edges and spine ends are a little rubbed. Bindings are sound. Volume 1 contains black and white frontis portrait of Shakspeare. Marbled end-papers and block edges. Light foxing to prelims in some volumes, pages and text is clean, crisp and bright. 8 of the volumes have a previous owners name handwritten on front free end-papers. Volume I also contains 'Some Account of the Life &c. of William Shakspeare' by Mr Rowe. and 'Dr. Johnson's Preface to his Edition of Shakspeare's Plays, Printed in 1765'. 10-volume set (complete).
