Fascinating volume with a plea "for less dialogue in screen productions as the only method of reviving film box-offices before they are talked to death." Author's signature and dedication "To Edgar Dale" at front endpaper, dated March 20, 1939, a leading light in film studies many decades ago, born April 27, 1900 in Benson, Minnesota, who lived in Columbus, Ohio, and who died on March 8, 1985. Dale was "an American educator who developed the Cone of Experience. He made several contributions to audio and visual instruction, including a methodology for analyzing the content of motion pictures." Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound, internally clean hardcover copy, with lightly bruised tips. Ex-library copy with usual markings to spine, endpapers, etc. Blue-gray boards with moderate scuffing to edges and spine. 92 pp. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
