P. Lund, Humphries, January 1965. Oversized Hardback . Fair - Cash/No Jacket. Red cloth hardboards with gold gilt lettering on spine. Heavy rubbing to corners edges and surfaces. Small tears to the top, bottom and edge of spine with fraying. Corners bumped. Slight soiling to cover. Soiling to edge of textblock. Uneven pages. Pages have white cloth tape going down the gutter. Thick quality paper. Clean crisp pages with fold out maps. Stock photos may not look exactly like the book.

Original brown cloth, dustwrapper. The book is in very good condition; the dustwrapper is in near-VG condition (light chafing of the extremities). Includes one general index map plus XII large, detailed double-fold maps, index of estates/farms with details/owners, etc., index of subscribers. Map boundaries are hand-coloured. Bound in marbled boards in three-quarters leather, possibly original with no sign of restoration, gilt-ruled spine with gilt titles. Gift inscription inside, in calligraphic script, dated 1816. Contents in excellent condition with no significant wear nor foxing. Slight offsetting as expected. Binding is firm, not shaken. Covers quite worn at extremities as expected. A very nice complete, original copy. Photos available.

Engraved analemma with rotating volvelle, calendar scales and principal stars' positions. The instrument consists of a rotating celestial planisphere graduated with right ascension and declination. Below is a list of the principal stars, with an analemma charting the sun's position throughout the year. The analemma is nowadays considered to be the 'figure- of-eight' device employed in a mean-time sundial to correct for the equation of time. however, in late antiquity the term was applied to a subsidiary instrument, in the form of a graphical projection, which facilitated the construction of a principal work such as a sundial.
