From the family library of Maxwell Laurie (brother of the publisher, Thomas Werner Laurie) and his wife Marjorie (daughter of the governor of Burma, Sir Herbert Thirkell White) with initials M. L. in gilt to upper board. Boards square and sharp; light edgewear; surface scuffs and scratch marks; staining to spine tails on vols I-IV. Contents clean with minimal spotting to prelims and end matter; firmly bound. An elegant and presentable Bumpus-bound set of this uncommon edition.
