II: viii, 336; "seventy-five illustrations, engraved by J. Orrin Smith, from drawings by John Gilbert". Half titles present. Contemporary full burgundy morocco bindings with 5 raised bands to the spine, elaborate central gilt decoration to both boards; blind ruled fillets to edges and decorative gilt inner dentelles; all edges richly gilt. Bindings fine with slight rubbing only. Contents clean and tight, minimal spotting to page edges and front/rear blanks, otherwise unmarked, no inscriptions. A fine tight and handsome set, more than suitable as gift to celebrate an important occasion..
