Binding copy. Spine missing, covers loose, early pages loose.

Houghton Mifflin and Company. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Good + ; No jacket Houghton Mifflin, no date (ca.1880). Vol. 5 only of the "Ten Volumes in Five" edition. Hardcover book has half leather tan calf binding and marbled boards in maroon and white with blue accents. Edges are rubbed. Corners are rounded. Boards are visible at corners. Bottom calf corner has top smooth surface layer of leather pulled off in a comb-like pattern about 1" long. Spine has six panels with raised bands; red panel has title 'British Poets'; black panel has title ' Byron - Vol. V' and other panels have decorative tooled gilt devices. Spine has some scratches. Top of spine is chipped and rubbed. Covers and spine have gilt rules at all edges of calf. Endpapers and all edges are marbled in red and white with blue pattern that matches covers. Front endpaper has a bookplate. The contents of volume 5 comprise volumes 9 and 10, 454 and 417 pages, Don Juan, Cantos 1 - 16. No dust jacket.
