With illustrated frontispiece. Text block edges are decoratively speckled. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Bookbinder's sticker to front pastedown. A few dog-eared corners. Occasional minor marginalia and underlining. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Spine is noticeably sunned. Gilt is bright.

Engraved title page and frontispiece of the author. Text in two columns. Block edges are speckled red. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and thumbing. Foxing heaviest on title page and towards start and end of book. Gutters cracked with exposed netting. Text block firm. Frontispiece detached but present, with old tape to edge and heavily foxed. Faint creases to some pages. A few dog-eared corners. Boards have heavy edge wear, with bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are worn and rubbed. Leather sections scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Spine particularly rubbed. Gilt is bright. A few dents to rear board. Slightly scratched overall.

Frederick Warne, 1111. Hardcover. Good. No Edition Remarks. 668 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth. Rough-cut pages. Light water staining, foxing and tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Binding is slightly loose but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.
