New York: D. Appleton & Co., 1851. Black embossed leather boards with gilt design on front. Leather spine is a well crafted replacement for the original, but bears no embossing or titles. Marbled endpapers are split along gutters but the integrity of binding is not compromised. Fly has large sections missing at upper and lower corners. Rear fly missing lower corner. 10" tall by 7" wide. Occasional small stains and moderately foxed. All text readable. Some marginalia in pencil. 829 pp + endmatter.. First Thus. Leather. Good+/No Jacket. Small Quarto.
