Philadelphia: John Watts, 1806. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. This book is well worn and has been exposed to moisture as several of the pages near the end and beginning show damp stain at the edges. There is not title page so we do not know who bound the periodicals between these boards. The boards themselves are terribly scuffed and rubbed, it is badly worn at all edges. It is, however, complete and square with all pages in places and readable. All pages are toned with periodicals numbers 3 and 4 quite dark (but still very legible). The one-quarter binding had brown leather on the spine, but the back strip has dried out and is chipped at the top and bottom. The former owner, R Blanton, has a bookplate and his name and doodles in several places on the end papers. He apparently bought the book around 1854 from Essex & Sons in Lexington, MA.
