Backstrip sunned; cloth very slightly rubbed; bump to bottom fore-corners; name of earlier owner, illustrator Alba Bouwer, signed on front free endpaper; trace of foxing to endpapers; light browning to edges. Very good condition. This volume continues on from Welch's 'Portuguese Rule and Spanish Crown in South Africa 1581-1640', which is one of several works by the author on the history of Portuguese involvement in the region.
