Postcard (177 x 114 mm), imprint and small emblem to recto, verso with 8-line manuscript poem by Allen Ginsberg in his hand, additionally titled "POSTCARD" and captioned at the end by Ted Berrigan. Fine. An exceptional example of Ted Berrigan's scarce Postcard poems, more usually found with his own manuscript compositions, but here with an autograph manuscript poem by Allen Ginsberg. Ginsberg's poem, beginning "A passport to the land of enchantment...", is a satirical mediation on Hollywood, and includes mentions of Ginger Rogers, Ronald Reagan, and Charlie Chaplin; it is unpublished. Berrigan has captioned it at the foot: "Allen Ginsberg wrote this for me, one a.m., 1 Feb 1982, NY, Ted Berrigan." A key figure of the New York School of poetry, Berrigan (1934-1983) considered himself "a late Beat".
