A reissue of the 1811 edition with a new title page. Folio (11" x 15-1/4") bound in modern half red morocco leather with matching corners, marble paper sides, gilt-lettered and ruled spine. Illustrated with 30 lovely hand-colored plates, margins with light gray wash and dark gray lines, numbered in manuscript with tissue guards. Instructions for painting various aspects of the day: sunrise, cloudy morning, rainbow, lightning, waning moon, etc.
