With a frontispiece. 'The Chalet School' series contained approximately sixty school story novels by Elinor Brent-Dyer. They were initially published between 1925 and 1970. This novel follows the last term at the Chalet school for the Maynard Triplets. The flyleaf notes that this term the 'Prefects find they have even more varied duties to perform. Romance is to the fore and the end of term sees a very popular engagement. Happily, too, the last days at the Chalet School for the other Prefects see them settled and ready to take their places as responsible adults. ' The first edition, held in original, price-clipped dustwrapper. Elinor M Brent-Dyer was a popular children's author who wrote more than 100 books in her lifetime. Condition: In original cloth binding and held in original price-clipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with bumping to the head and tail of spine. Dustwrapper is generally smart with a few marks and spots to wraps, particularly the rear. Prior owner has highlighted and circled in pink the works from the chalet series that they own to the list at the rear wrap. Prior owner has also covered the wrap in preservative adhesive, which has discoloured slightly. Small loss due to rubbing at the flyleaves. W & R Chambers price label to the front flyleaf, original price has been clipped. Minor offsetting to pastedowns and endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Overall Condition: Near Fine in a Good dustwrapper.
