About This Item
Guayaquil: Publicacion del Museo Victor Emilio Estrada. Very Good+. 1957. First Edition. Hardcover. No. 4; 176 pages; Clean and secure in binding with brown cloth spine & corners over tan boards; some light foxing to titlepage. Illustrated with many, many photographs and several folding tables and charts. Text in Spanish. Manabí is a province in Ecuador; its capital is Portoviejo. The province is named after the Manabí people. On the coast we find the remains of two entirely different cultures. "In the province of Manabi, in a dry and arid strip extending from the equator south towards Guayaquil, there developed a unique civilization which apparently suffered but little from Incasic influence. In northern Manabi and along the coast of the province of Esmeraldas there are the remains of another distinct culture." .
