Covers are lightly rubbed at extremities, with faint crease on rear cover, endpapers and text are lightly tanned, else a very good, partially unopened, copy. First edition. Canadian poet Gatien Lapointe (1931-1983) was born in Quebec; he won numerous awards including Prix du Club des poetes (1962), Prix du Gouverneur general and Prix Du Maurier (1963) and Prix de la province de Quebe (for 'Le Premier Mot' in 1967).
Inscribed and signed by Gatien Lapointe to scholar and poet Samuel French Morse: "Au celebre critique/ S. F. Morse/ en souvenir de notre... Gatien LaPointe/ 'One is nothing with no world'/ says W. Bronk/ ... en Quebec/ le 18 mai 1968" (on half-title page).
