(1st U.S. edition, 1st printing) Large, sturdy book, dark blue cloth spine, gray boards, bright silver lettering on spine, light gray color inside covers and adjacent end papers, ink name, address and brief note at top of first front end paper and reverse of final end paper, tiny light brown spotting to exterior page edges, remainder mark at pages' bottom edge, including four glossy photo sections. DJ glossy with background in shades of blue and silhouettes of warships on front, praise on back. DJ has light surface wear at top tips, pin dent at bottom front spine indentation. Near Very Fine DJ/Very Good book.

Synopsis

Sir John Desmond Patrick Keegan ( 1934–2012), was one of the most distinguished contemporary military historians and was for many years the senior lecturer at Sandhurst (the British Royal Military Academy) and the defense editor of the Daily Telegraph (London). Keegan was the author of numerous books including The Face of Battle , The Mask of Command , The Price of Admiralty , Six Armies in Normandy , and The Second World War , and was a fellow at the Royal Society of Literature.
