Basis for the 1928 silent German film about a novelist in Paris and his girlfriend's criminal ties, directed by Aleksandr Razumnyj, and starring Marcella Albani and Ivan Petrovich.
Very Good plus in a Very Good dust jacket. Spine slightly faded, front hinge tender, notation in holograph ink on the rear pastedown. Jacket with several small chips and light foxing, reinforced on the verso at the spine and one corner with brown paper tape.

No dustwrapper, some bumping to corners of dark red boards, bottom inch of spine strip has come loose but been glued back, quite a lot of yellowing to the pages, but otherwise a not too bad, clean tight copy of this slim hard-cover book. Originally published in French as "Prince ou Pitre" and filmed as "Fürst oder Clown" starring Ivan Petrovitch and Marcella Albani in Germany in 1928. No publication date shown, but this has stills from the film, so probably issued when the film was shown in the UK. 252pp, 8 b&w stills from the film.. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
