Governor of Massachusetts, serving from 1855-56. He was also a printer and publisher, including of the New England Farmer. Simon Brown's signature in pencil at top edge title page. Very Good Plus, title at spine faded and not quite legible. 164 pp. in publisher's pebbled cloth with rules in blind. Quite sturdily bound, in line with its intended audience. SCARCE SIGNED and with a nice Association. . SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good Plus/No Jacket, As Issued. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Association Copy.
