About This Item

Hinges & text tight and intact. (xvi, pp13-415). Foxing mainly first & last few pages. Small ding in front cover near hinge. From the BIOGRAPHICAL DICTIONARY OF AMERICAN ECONOMISTS: "His thinking is largely orthodox and classical; he is a proponent of laissez-faire and opposes government intervention in the economy. He criticizes current economic thinking for its limitations, but believes Adam Smith and his successors are broadly following the right lines. In Principles of Political Economy, Vethake shows awareness of the need to broaden the classical concept of value, and shows it can be applied to technology and to knowledge".
