New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1898. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover. Third Edition, entirely revised and enlarged. Osler (1849 - 1919), sometimes called one of the greatest icons of modern medicine, served as physician-in-chief of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. A firm believer of bedside learning, he established the medical residency program which is still in place today. Minor wear to edges of boards, corners, and hinges. Minor rubbing to boards. Offsetting to a few interior pages from two laid in newspaper clippings - one clipping is a photograph of Osler and the other is a poem title "Love is a Sickness" by Samuel Daniel. 1181 pages.
