HARDCOVER, bound in the original publisher's cloth, spine gilt; corners bit bumped, endpapers lightly browned, old signature to first free endpaper. In a very good condition. ~ Second edition. Professor George Wille (1880-1965), read for his B.A.LLB. at Cambridge. Returning to South Africa in 1903, he was a member of the Transvaal Bar for 18 years, where he practiced as an advocate. He became the first full-time professor of law at University of Cape Town in 1920, holding the chair until 1945, and lecturing chiefly on Roman-Dutch law. Many judges in South Africa and Rhodesia studied under him. Wille was one of the best-known legal writers in South Africa. He was known for his liberal outlook and for his support of equal legal rights to South Africa's underprivileged classes. 006-3
