Cambridge: Harvard University Press. Near Fine. 1937. Second Edition. Hardcover. 2 Vols.; 292pp. & 326pp.; 8vo; red cloth, spine lettered in gilt; illustrated with reproductions throughout. Very light rubbing to spines, gilt a bit dulled. Bound into the front of both volumes, a printed sheet: "This set of, 'Printing Types', is affectionately inscribed to Floyd C. Parks, by his associates of the Halle-Cordis Composing Room, San Francisco, California, August 19, 1938." Below this a vertical rule, signed on each side by Halle, Cordis, and 13 of his other associates, on both sheets. Also laid in, is a black & white photograph of three men and a woman, posing in 'firefighter' helmets. Appears to be a later copy from an older photograph, with writing in black ink on the reverse, i.e. '19THc Typographic' ; "Assoc Workers' ; 'Money Pot for Printers in Need' ; 'Caste de Chapelle' ; 'Sale of these copies: $ Into Caste', etc. Finally, a sheet of engraved printing: "With Spink & Son's respectful Compliments, 5,6,7, King Street, St. James, SWIY 6QS.; Signed by Author(s) .
