Presentation on the Linear Cities theory given at the Vienna Conference of the International Federation for Town and Country Planning and for Garden Cities, held in September, 1926. Soria Hernandez was the son of the celebrated Spanish urban planner Arturo Soria y Mata, who created the concept of the linear city in 1882. The concept would subsequently be popularized in the 1920s by the Bolshevik trade union activist Nikolay Alexandrovich Milyutin. Octavo (21cm.); original white printed wrappers; 61pp.; 10 plates, including 2 double-paged. Wrappers dust-soiled, short tears and creasing, mostly to upper wrapper fore-edge; pages uniformly toned due to poor paper stock, else interior very good and sound. Bi-lingual edition, continuously paginated, the English text followed by the Spanish text with separate title page.
