Finland: Compagnie Lyonnaise de Cinéma/Metheus Film/Rapid Film, 1966. 1st Edition . No Binding. Near Fine. Cinema-used Finnish one-sheet for the movie AGENT 505: DEATH TRAP IN BEIRUT. Agent 505, played by Frederick Stafford, was a German/Italian/French co-production aiming to capitalize on the success of the 60's spy-genre and in particular the James Bond franchise. He was the Common Market's 007. The film was first screened in Finnish cinemas in 1966 with no subsequent theatrical runs. This particular poster is a standard size 60cm x 40cm approx. It is fabulous and I was going to describe it as Mint Unused but then at the last second I noticed a pinhole and small tear at the centre top between the "V" and "E" in "Genevieve. Appears as though a tack was used to fix the poster and then it was just pulled through at dismounting. It really is difficult to spot. Finland: United Artists, 1953. 1st Edition . No Binding. Fine. A fabulous-condition Finnish A2 cinema poster for the 1953 movie, VICE SQUAD starring Edward G. Robinson & Paulette Godard. The movie is also known as The Girl from Room 17 and it is this less "salacious" title which is referred to in the poster. The actual Finnish title translates as "Flying Squad". The film was first screened in cinemas in Finland in 1953 with no subsequent theatrical screenings. This poster is not a modern reproduction and nor is it Video/DVD-related. Standard size 23.5" x slightly under 16" approx. It is in fantastic condition - unfolded and with no chips or tears to the edges - one or two small handling creases. At the top - in the brim of the hat - there is a puncture or split to the paper although there is not actual loss. There are no pinholes - it may be an unused poster. Four-color offset lithograph on paper. [28⅛ x 23¼ in. (71.4 x 59.2 cm)], one of a printing of 4,000. From a series of four works titled "Column" the others were named Column no. 2 (Picasso 90), Column no. 3 (Chile-F), and Column no. 4 (IB-affair). The title refers to the work's likeness to newspaper columns: full of facts, but a colorfully cartooned map of textual facts. The artist's signature is reproduced in the lower right. Discoloration to white edges, else very good. Still very pleasant to the eye. All posters are presently stored between acid free boards, flat, under weight. They will be shipped rolled, in tubes.

Collection from family trip in 1952 includes original letter from Cunard Line Agents' Bulletin C-16 dated 6/14/52 in very good condition. Two brochures from the Caronia, one artist signature is G.H. Iavis. One book printed in England, one is printed in U.S.A. and the letter is from New York. Minor scratches and wear for the age and the First Class tag for the Cunard White Star Limited to Southampton, First Section is intact with the oriingal string. Finland: Trinty Production, 1950. 1st Edition . No Binding. Fine. An original and extremely rare Finnish A2 one-sheet film poster for the Documentary Film "Savage Africa" a.k.a. "Congolaise" from 1950. Commissioned by the French Government originally to make a record of the native tribes in French Equatorial Africa, it was controversially edited to present as an exhibition of female nudity and gorilla hunting. As such, possibly one of the very first Blaxploitation movies ever. The film was screened for the first time in Finland in November 1950 and there were no further theatrical releases following its initial run. The poster is an offset print made by Kartapalvelu Oy of Finland, dated 1950 and with the artist's (printed) signature at the right about midway. Measures 23.5" x 16" approx. Finland: Kosmos-Filmi Oy, 1934. 1st Edition . No Binding. Fine. A fascinating Finnish A2 "small" one-sheet, cinema poster for the classic Soviet-era comedy-musical Jolly Fellows, aka "Moscow Laughs" and "Jazz Comedy" directed by Grigori Aleksandrov. The film was made in 1934 and was hugely successful. It's director Aleksandrov, Sergei Eisenstein's long-time co-director, won numerous accolades and attracted the attention and praise of Graham Greene amongst other notable critics. The film was first screened in Finland in 1934 by Kosmos-Filmi Oy, a distributor and importer of Soviet films. No subsequent releases or even screenings are recorded. However, Kosmos-Filmi requested a new inspection from the Finnish Film Classification board in 1958. We believe this poster was created at that time to accompany a new screening, possibly in one of the Russian-owned cinemas located in Helsinki at that time. A vintage, original, and quite unique Finnish cinema-used poster for the first screening in Finland of the movie, SIREN OF BAGDAD starring Paul Henreid. The film was first screened in Finland in 1953 with no further subsequent releases. Approximate size is 60 cm by 40 cm, standard Finnish A2 format. SIGNS OF USE: the poster has centre-folds in both directions and pinholes to the corners and centre - quite large holes at the bottom corners. To the verso of the poster is a large original drawing for another movie - The Red Beret. That film was screened in Finland in 1954. Unfortunately the drawing is not signed and therefore likely to be the work of a cinema employee pressed to come up with something due to the absence of a real poster for an imminent screening.
