Lugdun. Batavor. (Lugduni Batavorum or Leiden): Iacob Marcum , 1616. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo. 460, (12), (239) pages. Hardcover bound in 19th century 3/4 green morocco with green pebbled cloth-covered boards. The binding is rubbed and worn but sound. Wear on the front hinge. Plain brown endpapers. Engraved title page. The text is closely trimmed. The text block is sound. There is a half title for the second section which reads, "Iani Casperii Gevartii Papinianarum Lectionum Commentarius." Publius Papinius Statius was a Roman poet who lived from about 45 to 96 A.D. The Index and Commentary or Notes (final 239 pages) were done by Jean Gaspard-Gevaerts (1593-1666).
