Collection of poems and essays on various subjects, including nature, cider, marriage, California, Minnesota, Dakota, Massachussetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Michigan, religion, pioneer life, Iowa State Fair, etcetera. Clipped SIGNATURE of the author pasted inside front cover. Hardcover, full green cloth, gilt titling. Light wear, upper front corner has hole about a half-inch by a quarter-inch at the top of the front hinge; front edge of rear board lightly nibbled; light wear & minor staining otherwise. Text clean; 480 pages, frontispiece portraits of the author & his wife.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 5¾" by 7¾".
