Hardcovers, two-volume match set in original black cloth with red in gilt on spine. Cloth shows only minor spotting and scuffing with the worst issues on the exterior being some rubbing at the name " F. A. Wheelcock" just above the publishers logos. Internal conditions of both books are similar: no library markings, no signatures or bookplates. The only handwriting found in the books is in the corner of the front end pages were each one has the original price penciled in the corner. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight, no hinge issues. Paper is toned due to age but pages are clean. Volume 1 contains 419 pages and volume 2 contains 424, plus publishers advertisements. A very attractive set and very uncommon to find in this condition.
