Cracks to hinges, exposing netting. Occasional dog-eared corners. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper and pastedown. Substantial area of loss to preface page and rear endpaper. Pen inscription to reverse side of title page. Thumb-marking present throughout. Boards have visible edge wear with corner bumping. Moderate sunning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened. Fraying to spine edges. Book has a slight forward lean.

Lipsiae: M.G. Weidmanni, 1741. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo. Text in Latin. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece plate, title page printed in red and black, nine binder's blank leaves bound in at the front and back. Full vellum, all edges stained red. Light soiling to the vellum, the top quarter of the front free endpaper is clipped, else near fine. The leaves at the back with extensive near contemporary manuscript annotations in pen and pencil. A handsome copy of the Minellius and Junckerus edition of Horace, first published in 1709. *OCLC* locates no copies of this 1741 edition.
