Cover faded, slight vertical crease to cover, spine cover half chipped away and reinforced, contents clean and lightly age-toned. The first 30 pages consists of instructions for playing 31 different parlor (party) games, and the last section is an illustrated catalog, with price list, of the card games offered for sale by the Fireside Game Company. Several of the illustrations are in full color. This is an attractive and well-preserved example of home entertainment projects in the late 19th century.

Housed in mylar wrapper. A workbook style of anagram prompts, with three perforated columns at the edge of each page for players to render their formulations, and blank lines to record the results. This copy is about 90-95% intact with only 3-5 written responses in the text. Detachable cards for sending anagrams to friends still present at rear. Marketed as an "absorbing" social activity with overt 18th amendment references on the DJ (example anagrams "Men meet gin, then death" / "End the gin; tame the men" / "Meaneth gin met the end.") A pleasing tactile production designed for defacement, but still nicely preserved.
