Caldecott’s Picture Book front board and back board are profusely illustrated with the same Randolph Caldecott illustration that has the names of the illustrated stories concealed within the illustrations. The spine has the title Caldecott’s Picture Book. The R. Caldecott’s Picture Book binding is in Good condition with light spotting to the front board, light wear to the front board and back board, wear and repair to the spine. In spite of the faults to the binding, the binding for this antiquarian children’s book is very attractive. The R. Caldecott’s Picture Book has patterned endpapers to the front and to the back of the book. The Diverting History of John Gilpin has 31 numbered pages, The House That Jack Built has 29 numbered pages, The Babes in the Wood has 30 numbered pages, and An Elegy on the Death of a Mad Dog has 30 numbered pages. This book is profusely illustrated throughout by one-page Randolph Caldecott colour illustrations, double-page Randolph Caldecott colour illustrations, single-page Randolph Caldecott black and white illustrations, and smaller Randolph Caldecott black and white illustrations. The R. Caldecott’s Picture Book pages are in Good to Very Good condition which lacks the Half Title Page and Title Page, has small fountain pen ink spots to pages 8 through to page 11 of The Diverting History of John Gilpin, and pages 25 through to page 31 are bound together but are loosely inserted. Some of the remaining pages have faults but on the whole are very clean and extremely attractive, with all other pages bound-in.�
