About This Item

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1981. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Very Good +/Very Good. 467 pages ; 22 x 15 cm. Hardcover. Publisher's original rust colored cloth over boards, lettering in gilt and silver to spine and front cover, kind of a wine colored topstain, rose maybe. Book Condition: lettering bright, binding sound, interior feels unread, both spine ends pushed, the slightest toning to upper edge of boards, fore edge a little dusty, else fine with a brilliant and unmarred top stain. Dust Jacket Condition: very light wear to the extremities, a crinkle or two visible on the black areas with a small divot (replaced) to upper panel; some faint toning to the white areas (lower panel); price intact and on the whole a very frisky looking presentation of unfaded rainbows all round. Winner of both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize.
