New York, New York: Coward-McCann, 1946. First Edition. Hardcover--cloth. Good. Sold as a good reading copy only Octavo, 8 1/2 " tall, 430 pages plus black and white photo illustration, illustrated endpapers, blue cloth. A good hard cover first edition with moderate shelf wear, cover cloth faded at the margins, some fraying at the top and bottom of the back strip cloth; hinges and binding solid, BUT paper clean lightly yellowed with light foxing at the front and back endpapers and fore-edges. Without dust jacket.

Slip "Compliments of the New York Central Railroad Company Public Relations Department" pasted inside front flyleaf. Illustrated with more than 100 photographs. Modern railroading as developed just before and since World War II. The main focus of the book is fast freight.

Spine tight, boards rigid and tips pointed. Back board has a rumple all the way cross horizontally and small pushing along top of board. Many b&w illustrations. All present. The dust jacket is NOT price clipped with some little wear at tips and worn areas on covers and some dampstaining around rear cover bottom and spine.. Now looks shiny and new in it's archival mylar cover..
