Introduction by author and index. Dark blue coloured and pages. The text is illustrated with colour photography and the occasional black and white photograph along with colour and black-and-white illustrations. Colour photographic laminated boards with white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper, same photograph as the underlying boards with white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. "Railways transformed not just common means of transportation but cities, countries, and continents. Trains and the engines became emblems of the new era, and the buildings which housed were called the "cathedrals" of the new wage. This type of building presented an entirely new challenge. The architects and engineers, for nothing like a railway station had ever been built, or needed, before. We seem to specialize in non mainstream stuff but read and stock Science-fiction, fantasy, detective fiction, history, biography and true crime, war, natural history. cooking, children's books and try to avoid current text books.We probably have the largest collection of Science Fiction, Penguins and general crime in Victoria in an open shop ( David has 8 bookcases 900mm x 2200mm of sf and f) ( Penny has 8 bookcases 1200mm x 2400 of sf and f )On shelf each shop has 30,000 plus books and we list over 30000 books online
