Recent professional rebinding in speckled half calf with gilt raised red band on spine. Portrait frontis The Noble and Learned Knight Sir Walter Raleigh. Contains letters previously unprinted and a account of his execution in 1618 with enlarged gallows speech. Pagination.pp.2.vi,342 + 4adverts, Blank, Port. Frontis. Collation gathered in twelves A-A4, B-O12 +8 all complete. Contains written inscription on frontis. Francis Fitzherbert given by my Lady Harrow Aug.st y: 31st 1708. We think this item may have been a 21st birthday present for the daughter of John Fitzherbert of Somersal Herbert Hall at Doveridge near Ashbourne in Derbyshire.
