Raphael Demos January 23, 1892 - August 8, 1968 Memorial Service Booklet Private Press: Published by Harvard University; Cambridge, Massachusetts; 1968 The service was held at Harvard on September 18, 1968 The service included performances by the Harvard Glee Club and a primary address by Demos' successor, Professor Roderick Firth. The booklet contains the order of the service, Professor Firth's address, the Meditation and Benediction. About 7.25 x 5.25 inches with interior staple bound booklet has light blue cardstock covers with interior jacket-style flaps; unpaginated, about a dozen pages. Raphael Demos was a professor and author who worked at Harvard from 1916 to 1962. He was Alford Professor of Natural Religion, Moral Philosophy and Civil Policy. He authored The Philosophy of Plato and was editor of The Complete Works of Plato. Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. took Professor Demos' Philosophy of Plato course while he was a student at Harvard. There is some light soil to front cover and a small band of tanning on front cover. . Stapled. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Private Press.
