Notes: Rupert's Land, or Prince Rupert's Land was a territory in British North America which comprised the Hudson Bay drainage basin; this was further extended from Rupert's Land to the Pacific coast in December 1821. It was established to be a commercial monopoly by the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC), and operated for 200 years from 1670 to 1870.
