Boston: The Bibliophile Society, 1927. 1927 Edition, Limited to 450 sets for members of the Society. Books are NEAR FINE, clean and firmly bound. Slipcase is Good+. Books are beautifully typeset and printed on fine paper. Each has tissue-protected engraved limitation and title page; "The Raven" features 2 tissue-protected black & white engraved illustrations (artist is not credited.) Pages in both books are fresh and fine, many still uncut. The only marking are tasteful former owner bookplates on the pasted endpapers. Bound in black/dark blue cloth with leatherette embossing. Spines were gilt titled but gilt has worn off. Also there were double gilt rules along edges of front and rear covers. The gilt rules have worn off of "The Raven" but are bright on "Thanatopsis." Covers are otherwise fine and unworn. Binding and hinges tight and straight. Introductory essays by Henry H. Harper. Slipcase is covered in cloth matching the books, titled in spine with a paper label. Bottom right corner of label has chipped with loss of three characters from title - otherwise slipcase is clean and very good with only light edgewear. 6-7/8 x 9-3/4". "The Raven" has 38 pages. "Thanatopsis" has 26 pages.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Slipcase - Good.
