Freeman's biography is a landmark book in American History, winning the Pulitzer Prize in 1935.
Published over a two year time span, the books were distributed as two sets of two, with two books in a slipcase. This listing DOES NOT offer the slipcases.
Also, please note the first printings of these books did not include the fold out maps that are present in some later editions. There are in-text maps, and numerous photos.
Condition of all four books is Very Good Plus. Straight and sound bindings. Complete and unmarked inside pages. A well preserved set. The main condition issues are:
1) light shelf wear to the boards, including a small scuff to the back panel of Volume Two (see last photo), and
2) a few spots of soil to the top edges of the text blocks.
