About This Item
1942. Two small creases.. Real photo postcard showing skier jumping as crowds of spectators on each side of run look up to watch him. There is a small X written in pen over the figure, which is explained by the handwritten message on verso: "Some more sport on the terrace. I have marked myself with an X in case you thought I was merely one of the onlookers. What you can't see however is that I was (just for the sake of this photo) being trailed by a rope from aeroplane (No, it wasn't around my neck). Only a few of the spectators spotted it. H.B." British stamp with 1942 postmark. Approx. 5 1/4 by 3 1/2 inches.
