About This Item
N.Y.: Edmond Byrne Hackett The Brick Row Book Shop. Fine. 1940. First Edition. Hardcover. 150 pp., including 143-150 blank for notes; 8vo; purple cloth; paper cover and spine labels. In original publisher's plain glassine wrap, chipped at bottom edge. Based on the author's "The Queen of Hearts' Recipe Book", published in 1932, with changes and over 90 added recipes. From the forward: "Like my former book, this is not a complete cook-book, but only a compilation of recipes which I have accumulated from various sources. Some have been given to me by friends, or by cooks in my employ, some have been presented to me voluntarily by headwaiters in foreign countries, some have been handed down for four generations in my family, and some are the result of my own efforts." .
