New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1935. 1/4 cloth. Very good +/missing. A very good plus 1935 edition, signed by the author, James Truslow Adams. Gold quarter cloth spine under red cloth with gilt highlights. Leather title label with gilt title stamping. End papers toned. Taped into blank page with signature is a brief obituary of Adams dated 1949. Binding is tight, sturdy and square, no bumped corners or flaws to covers. Deckle fore edge is crisp and unbent with no chips. A very nice signed copy overall. Illustrated throughout with color and b/w plates and graphics. 941 pp. including index. Octavo, 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches tall.
