About This Item

Charles Scribner's Sons, 1949. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Signed by Author. Published by Charles Scribner's Sons, 1949. First edition, first printing with letter A and Scribner Seal on copyright page. Date of 1949 printed on title page, first state jacket with price of $2.50 on jacket flap. Laid in is a copy of Heinlein's infamous form letter which responded to the most common questions and comments he received in fan letters. Although the letter is not signed in full Heinlein did mark and initial the letter, as was common. Hardcover in jacket, price intact on jacket flap. Jacket has a couple light instances of soiling and a slight fade to jacket spine. A couple small tears to jacket edge, small chip to rear panel. Appears to have some light bug damage at jacket folds. Overall jacket remains bright and presentable and is now housed in fresh Mylar. Text is clean and unmarked. Binding strong. Slight rubbing and edge wear to boards. Overall a nice copy in very good condition. Rare first edition. Additional photos available upon request.
