About This Item

Signed and numbered copy Sept. 1937 Printed by Pynston Printers on handmade La Garde paper in a slip case. The spine of the book is slightly discolored, otherwise the cloth of the book is nice and fresh with deckled edges to the pages. There were 699 copies of this printing, this being number 435. The original glassine is present, but in two pieces with each piece having a chip out which is present.

Synopsis

"The Red Pony" is an episodic novella written by American writer John Steinbeck in 1933. The first three chapters were published in magazines from 1933–1936, and the full book was published in 1937 by Viking Penguin. The stories in the book are tales of a boy named Jody Tiflin. The book has four different stories about Jody and his life on his father's California ranch.
